Inlet vane dampers have a big positive impact on industrial fan operations.
Also called variable inlet vane damper, attaches directly to the inlet of the fan. The damper blades form a fan-like structure that “pre-spin” the air in the same direction as the fan rotation for more efficient operation.
Other common ways to control airflow include outlet dampers and variable frequency drives (VFDs). The trade-off can be between up-front cost and ongoing efficiency.
